ReadMOre is a Missouri initiative by numerous libraries and businesses in Missouri to encourage Missourians to read and discuss the same book at about the same time. Mississippi Solo: A River Quest was chosen by Missouri librarians for 2003-2004. The librarians felt that Harris's narrative was the ideal vehicle to talk about the archetypal American Story of personal quest. They believed that it was beautifully written and echoed some of the finest American writing. Eddy Harris appeared at several venues in the state during March and April 2004. He received the Governor's Humanities Award for Literature for this book. Here is the television interview he gave in Hannibal, Missouri.
